2026.01.07 - Drafts Submitted to Municipal Affairs for Review and Release

Section 15 of the Urban and Rural Planning Act requires that drafts of the documents be submitted to Government for review before Council can consider adopting and approving them. The Town has now submitted copies of the drafts (linked below) for review. Once Government has reviewed them, the Town will make any edits necessary to respond to Government’s comments and qualify to have the documents “released”. At that stage, Council will be in a position to adopt the documents and hold a Public Hearing to hear public representations on the drafts before considering final approval. The timeline for Government review is unknown, but the Public Hearing will be advertised so please stay tuned.

Engagement on the Draft Plan is now closed.

Plan CBS Public Meeting - online recording now available for viewing!

Did you miss attending a public information session about the new draft Municipal Plan. Not to worry, we recorded the presentation at our online public meeting, that provides an overview of the Plan, its implications, and proposed changes so you can watch it and then share your thoughts with the project team up until July 15th.

May 23, 2024 - Draft Municipal Plan & Development Regulations Released for Public Review and Consultation!

The Town of Conception Bay South has been working with the project team & the community over the past few years to review and update the Municipal Plan and Development Regulations. We are so grateful for all the community feedback and engagement over the past years of this project. We are pleased to release the new draft planning documents for review, feedback, & edits!

These new documents are informed by public input (including surveys, open houses, & interviews) and are responsive to the changing needs of our community. The new Municipal Plan and Development Regulations will guide how and where growth and development happen in CBS.

Now we want to hear from you! Please take some time to review the draft documents and let us know your thoughts through a series of public meetings and other ways to participate through June and until July 15, 2024.
